The Sahara, since 1952

The Hotel Sahara opened Oct 7, 1952: a $5 million, 240-room hotel with an African Sahara theme. It closed in 2011, reopened as SLS Las Vegas in 2014 and became SAHARA again in 2019.

SAHARA and Westgate are the only hotels with both a Loop station and a Monorail station.

Closed: Bazaar Meat by José Andrés at SAHARA closed July 31, 2025; Maroon took its place and opened April 24, 2026. Pamplemousse on E Sahara Ave closed permanently in 2020.

Turnberry Towers and the Stirling Club

Turnberry Towers is a residential lobby pickup, not a tunnel station. The booking system lists it under “Residences & Others,” and The Boring Company lists it as active. The booking system names its pickup as the Lobby Entrance, but we couldn’t confirm it’s meant for non-residents, so most visitors should use the Sahara station.

Stirling Club is on The Boring Company’s “Opening Soon” list; its station entrance hasn’t been published. The Stirling Club itself is a private 73,000 sq ft club inside Turnberry Place: no gaming, members and their guests only, with membership from $3,000 a year. Coming soon, location is an estimate until officially announced.

The local landmark here is the Commercial Center on E Sahara Ave, opened in 1963; the district calls it Las Vegas’s first outdoor modern shopping mall.
