Where most Vegas trips begin
Las Vegas has always made its first impression from the air. The field at the south end of the Strip began in 1942 as Alamo Airport, aviator George Crockett’s field of three dirt runways. Clark County bought it, and in December 1948 it was dedicated as McCarran Field. On Dec. 14, 2021, it officially became Harry Reid International Airport (LAS). A piece of that early history survives: the Review-Journal notes the field’s old stone pillars still stand just south of the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign, at Signature Flight Support.
Today it’s where most Vegas trips begin, and it’s one of the places the Vegas Loop now reaches.
Vegas Loop at the airport: what’s verified
- Status
- Open, as curbside ride stops. The Boring Company lists Airport T1 and Airport T3 among its active Vegas Loop stations (checked Oct 31, 2026).
- Drop-off
- On the regular Departures curb at Terminal 1 or Terminal 3, according to the airport.
- Pickup
- On Level Zero at both terminals, according to the airport.
- Map pins
- Airport T1: 36.085641, -115.149938 · Airport T3: 36.08699, -115.136484 (station coordinates from vegasloop.com, as used in our app).
- Availability
- Airport rides are offered day by day. The Vegas Loop hours calendar showed no airport service on Nov 3, 6 and 8, 2026, for example (checked Oct 31). Check it before you count on a ride.
What that means for you:
- There’s no tunnel station inside the airport yet. Rides use Loop tunnels plus surface streets. In July 2026 an airport spokeswoman told the Review-Journal that an agreement for an on-airport station was still being worked out and that station locations weren’t final.
- The Day Pass isn’t valid for airport rides.
Airport fares (as of Oct 31, 2026)

Getting into town today
- RTC bus: Route 108 (Paradise) and the RED LINE stop at Terminal 1, Level Zero. From Terminal 3, take the free inter-terminal shuttle to T1 first. Tickets come from the vending machine at the stop, or buy a pass in the rideRTC app.
- Uber and Lyft: T1 pickup is on Level 2 of the parking garage. T3 pickup is on the Valet Level of the garage. Drop-off for both is at the regular departures curb.
- Taxis: outside baggage claim. At T1 they’re on the east side near doors 1–4, and at T3 on Level Zero near door 52.
- No Monorail: the Monorail doesn’t serve the airport.

Near the airport: the south end of the Strip
You don’t need to head straight to your hotel. Some of the most “only in Vegas” stops sit within a few minutes of the runways.

- Pinball Hall of Fame (Free Gem): 4925 S. Las Vegas Blvd., across from the Welcome sign. Entry is free, and the vintage machines are pay-per-play. Open 10 a.m.–9 p.m., and until 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Family-friendly
- PopStroke Las Vegas: Town Square, 6617 S. Las Vegas Blvd. Two 18-hole putting courses designed by Tiger Woods’ TGR Design, plus food and ice cream. Wednesday is Kids Day.
- Ethel M Chocolate Factory & Cactus Garden (Free Gem): a short drive southeast in Henderson. The factory viewing aisle and the 3-acre botanical cactus garden are free. Holiday Cactus Garden Lights run Nov. 5, 2026–Jan. 3, 2027, 5–10 p.m., at $3 a person (free for under-2s and 65+).
Eat & drink
- Town Square is the easy first-meal stop near the airport: an open-air center on the same corner as PopStroke, with sit-down and quick options. Before a flight, give yourself time for the airport’s roadwork. Its connector tunnels have lane closures through December 2026.
